What’s
going to be different? Starting in December, the UMaine Extension
Web site will include Web 2.0 tools, which allow for social and blogging
features. Navigation will move to the bottom of pages. And we’ll look
more like our parent site: The
University of Maine!
Along the top navigation there will be a “Text
Only” option to assist those with disabilities. At the bottom, there
will be links
to help you find all of the useful resources you’ve come to expect from
University of Maine Cooperative Extension. In between, you’ll find a wealth of dynamic
content, including video clips, updated news, and blogs that address
timely topics. You will be able to connect with UMaine Extension on
Twitter and Facebook, as well as view upcoming events and workshops on
our calendar. And you’ll be able to check out
extension.umaine.edu at any
time on your iPhone, IPod Touch, Blackberry, Palm -- UMaine Extension
will literally be right in your pocket as the site will be optimized for
PDAs.
Since the new UMaine Extension Web site will use
the latest technology, you may want to update your browser to the latest
version to take full advantage of our new features. This can be done easily.
Over the next several months, we will be updating
all of our Web pages to bring you information you can use, research you
can trust -- just as always, but in new ways!
