A five-weekend retreat series
for PreK-12 teachers and school leaders, University faculty and staff, and all who teach.

October 23-25, 2009
January 8-10, 2010
April 30 - May 2, 2010
August 20-22, 2010
October 15-17, 2010

All retreats begin at 6:00 PM on Friday when we will share dinner, and conclude with lunch on Sunday by 1:00 PM.

CEU's and/or receiving Graduate Course

Application & Selection Process

Cost
Because of the financial support from the UMaine System, Cooperative Extension, local sponsors, and funders, the cost per participant for the five-session retreat series is $500 -- a fraction of the actual cost. Fee includes all materials, food and lodging. Refunds will be given only if another participant can be found to fill your space.

Download and mail us an application form
[Word] or use our online application form. Please note that a personal statement, no more than 500 words, must accompany your application. Once your application has been submitted, you will receive a notice confirming receipt of your application by e-mail, and will be notified as to your acceptance. We seek a diverse group of 13 educators from Aroostook County for the series and will select participants based on a mix of gender, role, background and years of work experience.

At the retreat, forms for seven (7) Continuing Education Credits (CEU’s) from the University of Maine will be available for those wishing to apply. Participants interested in earning CEU's and/or receiving Graduate Course Credit for the five retreats should contact Dr. Richard Ackerman at richard.ackerman@umit.maine.edu.
