Northern Forest Heritage Park

Located in the heart of New Hampshire's Great North Woods, the Northern
Forest Heritage Park is an organization that preserves, interprets,
and promotes the story of the working forest and the multi-cultural
heritage of the region. The Park hosts forest, river and art exhibits,
lectures, seminars, concerts, ethnic festivals, mill tours, lumberjack
competitions, and special blacksmith demonstrations and events. An
excellent example of public and private sector collaboration for forest
heritage based development on the Upper Androscoggin River.

The Vermont Forest Heritage Trail, a component of the Vermont secondary
wood products industry’s Forest Heritage Tourism Initiative,
will be a series of highway-based, regionally-themed itineraries and
driving tours that unify and connect diverse forest-products-related
experiences for visitors and residents alike.

The Appalachian Forest Heritage Area provides knowledge about the
region’s natural resource history, tourism, environmental
problems and solutions, and other areas of interest. West Virginia
University and key partner, Canaan Valley Institute provide coordination
and staffing. AFHA relies on the people, communities, agencies,
and industries of the region to fulfill its objectives.
