2009 4-H Club Educational Exhibit Information and Rules
  1. Premiums plus ribbons will be awarded as follows:
    • 1st place: $35

    • 2nd place: $20

    • 3rd place: $15

    • All others $10

  2. 4-H clubs are eligible to enter a club exhibit. Exhibits MUST be prepared by the youth members. You must contact Linda Whitten at the Extension Office by Monday, August 3, 2009, 4:30 PM, if your club plans on having a club exhibit. No premium will be given to any club if the August 3, 2009 notification deadline has not been met. We will still welcome you to display your club exhibit at the Dover Fair; there just will not be a premium. Space in the exhibit hall is limited, because 4-H shares space with UMaine Extension staff, Master Gardener Volunteers, and the open flower show. 4-H club exhibits must be set up by 4 PM on Tuesday, August 25th, 2009 and removed before 5 PM on Sunday, August 30th, 2009.

  3. 4-H club exhibits will be judged on the following criteria:

Exhibit Theme (Should express an idea or message) 10 points
Exhibit Title (Brief and clearly visible in large 4-inch letters) 10 points
    Attracts Attention 10 points
    Originality 10 points
Explanation of 4-H to the public 20 points
Use of modern technology such as a computer, digital camera, video, television, etc. 10 points
Arrangement (Objects in exhibit should be well spaced and balanced.) 10 points
Workmanship (Quality and neatness of the exhibit.) 20 points
    Total Possible Points 100 points

  4. Each club must have a sign with their club name and town neatly printed on an 8 1/2-inch by 11-inch sheet of poster paper or other decorative sturdy paper. Do not attach this sign to your club exhibit. This sign will be placed on the club exhibit after it has been judged. Club Name must not be a part of the club exhibit!

For more information, see 4-H Youth exhibit rules for independent 4-H'ers and Club Members.
