Piscataquis County 4-H Leader's Association 2009 Post-Secondary Scholarship

This award is for a $500 post-secondary scholarship.

The award will be made to former Piscataquis County 4-H youth who have successfully completed their first year of college. Former 4-H youth can apply for this $500 scholarship for any year (2nd, 3rd, 4th and so on) of school after completion of one year of college or post secondary school.

The award will be made annually to at least one qualified applicant. If more than one youth applies, consideration will be given to all applicants. Selection of the winner(s) will be made by a committee of the Piscataquis County 4-H Leaders' Association. Applications must be completed and returned to Linda Whitten at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Piscataquis County office by 4:30 PM, September 1, 2009.

Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA (Grade Point Average). A college transcript of your first year's grades must be included with your application. Selection will also be based upon the applicant's participation in 4-H, citizenship and scholastic achievement. Preference will be given to those youth who have not received this scholarship previously. If no one is selected, the $500 will be added to the following year's Piscataquis County 4-H Leaders' Association scholarship fund.  Please include a reference from your 4-H Club leader, 4-H Youth Aide, college professor, etc.

Scholarship award recipient(s) will be notified of their award and when they will be presented to them.
