Families invited to learn about 4-H through the weekly family STEM club this fall
LISBON FALLS, Maine — The 4-H Youth Development Program in Androscoggin and Sagadahoc counties, a part of University of Maine Cooperative Extension, will be offering a Family STEM Club on Thursdays in November and December from 4–5:15 p.m. at the Androscoggin/Sagadahoc Extension Office, 24 Main Street in Lisbon Falls.
During the sessions, youth and their caregivers will learn about the science of seaweed while experiencing how 4-H can help youth thrive. This is also an opportunity for adults to explore ways to get involved with 4-H, such as club leadership and county program support. Families will engage in hands-on science and art projects together, with opportunities for adults to lead activities with the support of 4-H staff.
Sessions will be offered Thursdays, November 5 through December 17, excluding November 26. Activities are geared towards youth ages 5–10 and open to residents of Androscoggin and Sagadahoc counties. Participation is free, but space is limited. Registration is required on the program webpage by Friday, October 16. For more information or to request reasonable accommodation, email laura.personette@maine.edu or call 207.353.5550.
