5th Annual Pam Harmon Arts & Achievement Day

A day of celebration of the arts for RSU24 8th – 12th grade students

Partners: Sumner Memorial High School, Farm Tomorrow, GEAR UP, MELMAC, Schoodic Arts for All and the University of Maine Cooperative Extension/4-H.

On May 26, 2016, Sumner Memorial High School & RSU24 will host the 5th Annual Pam Harmon Arts Day as an all-day event with hands-on workshops led by faculty, students, local artisans, 4-H staff and volunteers, and community members who have a particular passion in some area of the arts and a desire to share that passion as mentors for the students.

The day will and can encompass all aspects of the arts: visual, performance, written, industrial, culinary, agricultural, and more.  Some examples of sessions already planned to be offered include: jewelry making, lampwork glass, introduction to using draft horses, basket making, dance, TV screen writing, steel drums, wet felting, and much more!

This day will also be an 8th-grade “Step-up Day,” which extends the reach to the surrounding RSU24 elementary schools.
