Presenter Information

Welcome to the Pam Harmon Arts Day Presenter page.

Thank you for volunteering to present a workshop at Sumner Memorial High School’s Pam Harmon Arts Day! We have approximately 280 RSU24 students, grades 8th through 12th, signed up to participate on this hands-on day of workshops celebrating the arts in all possible forms. This would not be possible with out your help, so THANK YOU!

We will be confirming by May 5th that your workshop will indeed run, when, and how many students you should expect.

As an important note, if you are not a 4-H volunteer or staff member, please also fill out the photo release form (PDF). This applies to RSU24 staff, students, and other community members. Thank you in advance for your attention to this!

While presenter and volunteers would be donating their time to this event, the school is able to reimburse and/or help acquire supplies and materials for workshops presented. Please plan to arrive 45 minutes to one hour ahead of your start time to check in and set up your workshop. If you will be presenting in Session 1, please plan to arrive at 7:30am. The Presenter Registration area will be in the Library, which is noted on the Campus Map (PDF). There will be a volunteer check-in at the registration area. We will also have coffee, water and light snacks for you upon your arrival, and lunch will be provided.

SUPPLIES FOR YOUR WORKSHOP(S) — When you filled out your Presenter Registration form, you indicated what supplies you would need for your workshop. We will be happy to acquire these for you and will contact you with any questions we have regarding them. If you prefer to provide your own supplies and be reimbursed by the RSU24 directly, please contact Lucille Null, SMHS Guidance Secretary, for information on the process required to do this. You may reach Lucille at lnull@rsu24.org or 207.422.3510 ext. 306.

Risk Management for Presenters

Often good risk management is no more than using common sense in regards to each activity. We recommend that you follow the two-deep policy. Never be alone with one youth — always have another person present, preferably another adult. If you are not a certified 4-H Volunteer,  University of Maine Staff member, or RSU24 Staff member, there will be a SMHS Faculty member assigned to your workshop to both help you with facilitation of your group and assist you in observing best risk-management policies. Please note that not all students have permission to have their photo taken and shared. Please do not share electronically any photos you take during the day of our participating youth without the express review and permission of RSU24. If you have questions, or would like a more in depth training around risk management and working with youth, please contact me.

If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Reilich at lisa.reilich@maine.edu or by phone at 207.598.6621
