As a teen leader, you will help in the planning stages and have the opportunity to act as a mentor for the younger participants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Teen leaders will again have a slightly different workshop track at the event to introduce you to the college experience, but will still participate in two of the other workshops being offered.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Eligibility<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">:<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Must have attended at least one 4-H@UMaine weekend. Must be at least in the 9<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Grade or 14 years old by March 1, 2020. Must enroll as a 4-H member (even if this is your only 4-H activity).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Expectations<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">:\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attend all meetings\/training before and after 4-H@UMaine 2020.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fully understand and successfully carry out assigned roles during the event.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Actively participate in all meetings\/training\/event activities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Actively support and mentor youth event participants.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You have until <\/span><b>April 3rd<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to complete the online application or send a completed paper copy to <\/span><a href=\"mailto:4HatUMaine@maine.edu\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">4HatUMaine@maine.edu<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to be considered. The planning committee will review all applications and contact references. Selections for the Teen Leader Team will be announced the week of April 20th.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Participation Requirements<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: If accepted as a teen leader, you will need to attend&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Introductory Zoom session<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on Friday, May 1st, at 5 pm.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>In-person training\/orientation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on Saturday, May 9th from 10:00 am &#8211; 2:00 pm offered at the Androscoggin\/Sagadahoc and Penobscot\/Piscataquis county offices.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>4-H@UMaine on <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Friday and Saturday, May 29th &amp; 30th.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Post-event feedback\/reflection session<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on June 5th at 5 pm.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your county office or Laura Personette at <a href=\"mailto:laura.personette@maine.edu\">laura.personette@maine.edu<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We\u2019re looking forward to working with the Teen Leader Team for 4-H@UMaine 2020!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Laura Personette<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Alisha Targonski<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tara Marble<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sadee Mehuren<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/4h\/4-humaine-teen-leader-application\/\">Online Application<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; <a href=\"mailto:4hatUMaine@maine.edu\">email<\/a> for a printed copy of the form.
