Salt marshes have the potential to lessen the impacts of increasing carbon dioxide in our atmosphere! Join University of Maine graduate student Heather Richard in exploring Maine\u2019s salt marshes and learn more about how environmental DNA (eDNA) can help us to understand more about the role of this important habitat in our changing world. Hands-on games and demonstrations will give participants an in-depth perspective into the science of eDNA and salt marsh ecology.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">All participants will receive a packet of materials for the hands-on activity and a book. This workshop is supported by Maine EPSCoR at the University of Maine.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Who:<\/strong> Ages 12-18<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>When:<\/strong> February 23, 2022, starting at 1:30 pm (will last approximately 1 hour)<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>How:<\/strong> Pre-registration is required by February 11, 2022.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Where:<\/strong> All activities will be held via Zoom. Materials will be provided and shipped directly to participants before the workshop.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><em>Limited to 15 participants.
