\"4-H<\/a>A collaboration between UMaine Cooperative Extension\u2019s 4-H Youth Development Program and the University of Maine at Farmington is getting participating RSU 9 students excited about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The program is called 4-H STEM Ambassadors<\/a>, and the goal is to have UMF students majoring in education or a STEM-affiliated major go into RSU 9 classrooms to teach STEM-related lessons. The STEM ambassadors, through the 4-H program, are provided with kits including lesson plans, worksheets, and materials needed for classroom activities for each lesson. The program is offered at other University of Maine campuses, too, but February marked the start of UMF\u2019s inclusion in the community outreach program.
