Clay Kirby serves as a resource person for Extension personnel, state agencies, and any Maine citizen with an insect question (including identification, biology, and management). He trouble-shoots a wide variety of insect problems that have included ornamental, household, fruit, and vegetable pests. Clay has had the opportunity to speak to such diverse groups as master gardeners, school children, garden clubs, sporting clubs, conservation groups, and various commodity groups (e.g. exterminators, Christmas tree growers, landscape/nursery workers, fruit/vegetable growers, and greenhouse operators).

  • M.S., in Entomology, UMaine, 1984
  • B.A., in Biology, College of New Jersey 1979

  • Commercial Pesticide Applicators License
