Nita comes to Cooperative Extension/4-H with a background in K-12 experiential education, community engagement, workforce development, and grant writing/management. Her role is to work with 4-H volunteers to promote the learning and growth of 4-H youth, and to develop educational programs, events, and resources that address the needs of youth in Waldo County. Currently Nita is working with the Waldo County 4-H team to rebuild a robust 4-H program post-pandemic. Nita is drawing on UMaine programs and expertise such as the Maine Sea Grant and the Food Innovation Group and partnering with community organizations such as the United Farmers Market of Maine, the Belfast Free Library, and the Waldo County YMCA to provide experiential programming.
