You can even use tools that are right at hand, like a gaff. Put the gaff on your shoulders and gently rest your hands on top like seen in the photo. When we feel anxious or feel we are in danger, our body&#8217;s sympathetic nervous system (the &#8220;fight or flight&#8221; system) responds by increasing the rate of our breath and heart rate to prepare us for &#8220;battle&#8221;. While this is an important and protective function, it can lead to a state of stress that our body cannot sustain without consequence.
