Session Topics

Join us online to learn about management program for landscape and lawn care for the upcoming season:

Spring kick-off for landscape

A successful spring kick-off in Maine begins by monitoring soil temperatures and tracking Growing Degree Days to ensure proper care of plants and precise pest and weed management during the growing season. Maintaining the soil health of these landscapes is equally vital for robust plant growth. This presentation will focus on identifying common tree and shrub challenges for the upcoming season, prioritizing soil health, and implementing effective scouting techniques.

Lawn care

A multi-tactic approach to Integrated Pest Management in turf combines mechanical, cultural, and chemical strategies with an understanding of pest biology to ensure interventions that are both precise and well-timed. This ecological strategy is most effective when paired with a strong foundation in soil science, as factors like soil structure and pH levels ultimately determine whether essential nutrients are bioavailable to the grass. This talk will focus on pest, diseases and weeds of turf, their management approaches, and soil science essentials for lawn care.
