CFAP Offers Additional Assistance<\/strong><\/h3>\n

USDA\u2019s Farm Service Agency will accept new or modified CFAP applications from eligible producers January 19 through February 26, 2021. Certain producers will receive updated payments automatically.<\/p>\n

Are you eligible for additional assistance through CFAP? Application information related to your operation is detailed below by the specific commodity you grow or raise.<\/p>\n

Producers who are modifying their applications should contact their\u00a0local USDA Service Center<\/a>\u00a0for assistance. Producers who are filing new applications should contact their Service Center or call 877-508-8364 for one-on-one support. Additional information for those now eligible to apply for CFAP 2 or for eligible producers making CFAP 2 application modifications is available at\u00a0farmers.gov\/cfap2\/apply<\/a>.<\/p>\n

MFRN Journeyperson Programming Accepting Applications and Information Session<\/strong><\/h3>\n

MOFGA is now accepting applications for the Journeyperson program, a 2 year support program for farmers in their first few years of a farm business.\u00a0 This program provides mentorship, technical assistance, connections to a wider network of farmers in Maine, whole farm planning and business planning education, and educational stipends. Pesticides Applicators 15 credit hours of free, virtual programming Jan. 19-21 during the 2021 Agricultural Trades Show Online<\/strong><\/h3>\n
University of Maine Cooperative Extension Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) and the Maine Board of Pesticides Control (BPC) will offer 15 credit hours of free, virtual programming Jan. 19–21 during the 2021 Agricultural Trades Show Online.<\/div>\n

Other groups are also offering pesticide applicator recertification credits at the Ag. Trades Show (see the\u00a0BPC Credit Calendar<\/a>). There are many opportunities! Licensed pesticide applicators can earn all their required recertification credits for their current licensing period next week! Some presentations may also be of interest to a wider Extension audience.<\/div>\n
