Share this opportunity!<\/p>\n<p>Together, youth and their caregivers will explore various STEM activities while experiencing how 4-H can help youth thrive! This is a great opportunity for adults interested in seeing how 4-H clubs run and for kids interested in joining 4-H. Families will engage in hands-on activities together, with opportunities for adults to explore leading 4-H activities with support from 4-H staff.<\/p>\n<p>All sessions will meet from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm at the Extension Office at 24 Main Street, Lisbon. Youth must be ages 5 to 11 years old and a resident of Androscoggin or Sagadahoc County to participate.<\/p>\n<p>Both series will be hosted by 4-H staff, all sessions will have different hands-on STEM activities for you and your child(ren). Six teenagers work with 3 community volunteers and staff to grow, cook, and explore with 40 Somali Bantu elementary school students. A total of three $500 scholarships are awarded each year. In 2025 and future odd-numbered years, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont will each name a scholarship recipient. In even-numbered years, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut name a scholarship recipient.<\/p>\n<p>Visit the website for all information about applying. To complete the challenge, members must complete activities from each section, with the number of required activities varying by age group:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Cloverbud (ages 5-8): <\/strong>2 activities per section<\/li>\n<li><strong>Junior (ages 9-13): <\/strong>3 activities per section<\/li>\n<li><strong>Senior (ages 14-18): <\/strong>4 activities per section<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/umainesystem.sharepoint.com\/:b:\/s\/UM-OnlineDocs\/ESYkIPpFi5BLh8aAwA0awggBEDClvPBzPqKxdbxE9I5Alw?e=ftbOHb\"><strong>4-H Ag Challenge Download (PDF)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve completed your activities, please return the form to the 4-H Ag Leadership team at <a href=\"mailto:extension.4hagleadership@maine.edu\">extension.4hagleadership@maine.edu<\/a>\u00a0or to your local UMaine Extension office. As a special reward for completing the challenge, you will receive a\u00a0<strong>specially designed Maine 4-H Ag Challenge hat!<\/strong>\u00a0Prizes will be mailed to those who complete the challenge.
