UMaine Extension Offers Extension Talks at Northern Maine Fair

University of Maine Cooperative Extension will offer several educational talks and demonstrations August 4 – 7 at the Northern Maine Fair Exhibition Hall, 84 Mechanic Street, Presque Isle.

Extension Talks begins at 6 p.m. August 4 with an overview of AgrAbility, followed by soil testing and documenting results at 7 p.m.  Other topics include making and canning pickles, controlling pests in the home garden with minimum use of pesticides (worth 1 pesticide recertification credit), and composting:  from kitchen trash to garden gold.

The talks are FREE; no registration is needed.
