\"public<\/a>Aroostook 4-Hers at the State Public Speaking Tournament<\/b><\/h3>\n

The 2021 4-H Public Speaking Tournament took place virtually over the weekend of April 16-18 and three of our Aroostook county youth participated.\u00a0 Lydia, Abe and Grace H., all from the \u2018Paca Pals Club, presented at the state level. Grace is a Cloverbud and gave an Illustrated Talk on how to make Gimbap, a Korean snack. Abe gave an Illustrated talk on how to take care of red-eared Slider Turtles.\u00a0 Lydia gave an Illustrated talk about Thoroughbred Horses and received the third highest score in the Juniors division!<\/span><\/p>\n

\"small<\/a>One Tomato Project<\/b><\/h3>\n

Do you want to be involved with a 4-H Service Project? 4-H will be partnering with the Aroostook Homemakers to give away free Cherry Tomato plants on June 5th at the Presque Isle Mall (outside.) We will have lots of more information soon but let the 4-H staff know if you would like to take part in this event.\u00a0 You can email Mari: mari.glatter@maine.edu<\/span><\/p>\n

Maine Ag in the Classroom has loads of wonderful resources to learn about Maine agriculture. They have called May Blueberry Month.\u00a0 <\/span>This link<\/span><\/a> will take you to their PDF which is full of free resources to learn about blueberries.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"summer<\/a>4-H Summer Learning Series<\/b><\/h3>\n

After an incredibly successful 4-H Summer Learning Series last year, Maine 4-H will once again offer virtual experiential learning workshops and clubs to youth ages 5-18 throughout June, July, and August 2021. Topics range from engineering, art, science, animals & agriculture, food & nutrition, teen leadership, and more – there is truly something for everyone! An exciting addition this year is that<\/span> 4-H@UMaine<\/b> will be offered as part of the 4-H Summer Learning Series – so keep your eyes peeled for a special 4-H@UMaine \u201ctrack\u201d of workshops connecting youth to UMaine faculty and students on campus!<\/span><\/p>\n

Early registration will be available to enrolled 4-H\u2019ers on Friday, May 28, 2021 and will open to the public on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. Help us spread the word to your friends and communities – enrollment in 4-H is not required to participate, this event is open to all!
