Season Update:

We are visiting sites across the wild blueberry growing region this week to check plant development. Buds are starting to swell in Mid-coast and Downeast.

To state the obvious, it has been wet and cold. Spring burning weather has not arrived yet. This is the time of year to start thinking about spring weed management which includes taking a soil test to determine soil pH for spring sulfur applications. Growers are also preparing for pre-emergent herbicide applications and fungicide applications to control mummy berry disease.
