Research: Evaluating Nutrient and Pest Management Strategies for Organic Wild Blueberry Growers in Maine

Becky is pursuing a Master’s degree in the Plant, Soil, and Environmental Sciences program at the University of Maine after recently graduating with a B.S. in Environmental Science and Management from the University of Rhode Island. She is exploring the effects of several different organic soil amendments on wild blueberry systems. Her research measures plant responses to nutrient inputs as well as disease, insect, and weed severity across three organic farms in Downeast and Midcoast Maine. She is passionate about applied research driven by stakeholder needs to investigate pertinent environmental questions. With roots in Connecticut, you can find her exploring lots of new places in Maine when she’s not in wild blueberry fields!
