For Future Leaders Ages 16-18
Are you passionate about the outdoors, working with kids, and dreaming of becoming a camp counselor? Our one-week Counselor–in–Training (CIT) program is designed for teens ages 16-18 who are eager to develop leadership skills, gain hands-on experience, and prepare for future camp staff roles!
This exciting, immersive experience is perfect for past participants of Lakeside Leadership, JMG, or other camp programs who want to take the next step and want to learn the skills to be a great camp counselor.
What You’ll Learn:
Outdoor Instruction Skills – Learn how to teach paddling, orienteering, outdoor activities, and low ropes course with confidence.
Leadership – Master the art of keeping campers engaged, handling tough situations, and managing group dynamics.
Conflict Resolution – Gain skills to support campers, address conflicts, and foster a positive camp culture.
Hands-on Experience – Work alongside experienced staff to practice real-world counselor responsibilities.
