The mission of the UMaine Gardens at Tidewater Farm is to provide agricultural and horticultural educational opportunities to the community utilizing research-based, environmentally friendly and sustainable gardening practices. There are nine distinct gardens at Tidewater Farm, which includes a Cottage Garden, Children’s Garden, Maine Harvest for Hunger Plots, All-American Selections, Meadow, Gathering Circle, Pollinator Garden, Orchard, and Wildflower Garden. Master Gardener Volunteers help maintain the gardens, organize workshops and events, serve on the planning committee, assist with youth programs, and more! Project Coordinator: Pamela Hargest.
