DESCRIPTION:Wednesdays\, June 25\, July 23 and August 13\, 2025\nSoldiers Memorial Library\, 85 Main Street\, Hiram\, Maine\n3:30-4:30 p.m.\nAges: 5-12 year olds\nCost: Free\, Registration is required \nOne Wednesday afternoon each month during the summer\, we will offer a themed hands-on activity for youth ages 5-12\, including crafts or science. 5-8-year-olds must have an adult present for assistance\, and some projects encourage adult assistance for all ages. Current 4-H enrollment is not necessary for participation. Registration ends the Friday before each class or when full (maximum of 10). \n Register Online \nFor more information or for a reasonable accommodation\, contact Allison Pollock\, (allison.pollock@maine.edu\, 207-781-6099). Receiving requests for accommodations at least seven days before the program provides a reasonable amount of time to meet the request\, however\, all requests will be considered.

This tour and workshop will be led by Aaron Parker\, owner of Edgewood Nursery and a community leader at Mt Joy. We will discover the many resilient and prolific fruit tree species and varieties that live at Mt Joy\, and consider the unique practices essential for growing a healthy orchard in an urban setting. The views of Portland will be splendid\, and the learning will be sweet! This event is brought to you by UMaine Extension and Cultivating Community.
