This webinar will explore the fascinating lifecycle and migration journey of the monarch butterfly, along with the essential habitat components these iconic insects need to survive and thrive.<\/p>\n<p>Participants will learn practical, science-based strategies for creating and managing pollinator habitat on private property, including plant selection, site preparation, and long-term maintenance. The session will also provide an overview of voluntary habitat restoration opportunities and available certification programs for landowners interested in formal recognition of their conservation efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you manage a small backyard, acreage, or working land, this presentation will equip you with the knowledge and tools to make a meaningful impact for monarchs and other pollinators.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the presenter:<\/strong> Hannah Mullally is the Partners for Fish and Wildlife Biologist for the Maine Field Office of the U.S. Fish &amp; Wildlife Service. She specializes in native pollinator habitat and private lands restoration. She works with private landowners, tribal partners, and land trusts to complete voluntary conservation and restoration projects on private land. Hannah also works closely with the Natural Resources Conservation Service and Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to complete projects benefiting federal trust, endangered, and threatened species.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/umaine-extension.formtitan.com\/ftproject\/events?eventid=a1cUy000005OtV7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Registration is required.<\/a> This program is offered on a s<span data-sheets-root=\"1\">liding scale ($10, $5, $0) and is free for enrolled Maine Master Gardener Volunteers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This session will be recorded and shared with registered participants within a week after the webinar takes place.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/umaine-extension.formtitan.com\/ftproject\/events?eventid=a1cUy000005OtV7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Register Online<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Join us for an engaging presentation on how private landowners can play a vital role in monarch butterfly and pollinator conservation.
