Whole Grain Master Mix

Serves: 12 | Serving size: 1/2 cup

Ingredients

2 cups white flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
3⁄4 cup nonfat dry milk powder (optional)
1⁄2 cup oats
1⁄2 cup cornmeal
3 Tablespoons baking powder
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt (optional)
1⁄2 cup vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Stir together flours, dry milk, oats, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar and salt in large mixing bowl.
  2. Cut in oil with pastry blender or two knives or use clean hands to blend the mixture until it looks like coarse cornmeal.
  3. Store in a container with a tight-fitting lid in a cool place.

NOTE: To measure Master Mix when using it in recipes, stir first, then pile the Master Mix into a cup and level off with a knife. The Whole-Grain Master Mix will help you add fiber to your diet.

Storing

Store Whole-Grain Master Mix in a plastic container with a tight-fitting lid, in a cool place.
