This class has self-paced lectures, and knowledge assessments, and is a prerequisite for the in-person training. Students who complete the course with at least an 80% grade on the knowledge assessments receive the level one UMaine Food Processing Sanitation micro-credential badge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who should attend:<\/strong> QC personnel\/ directors, processing managers\/operators, plant managers, line workers, etc.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Cost: $75<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/micro-credentials\/food-processing-sanitation\/\">Registration for Micro-credentials Food Processing Sanitation<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong><a id=\"hands-on-in-person\"><\/a>Hands-on In-Person Food Processing Sanitation<\/strong><br \/>\n(Level 2 micro-credential)<\/h3>\n<h3><b>Next class TBD<br \/>\n<\/b>To be placed on a waiting list please email theresa.tilton@maine.edu<\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Dr. Matthew Highlands Pilot Plant<br \/>\n162 Hitchner Hall<br \/>\nUniversity of Maine, Orono<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The in-person training briefly reviews the topics from the online class and allows participants to put into practice what they learned. This training presents participants with a real-life scenario where they must define the best strategy for cleaning and sanitizing a food processing piece of equipment, write an SSOP for the scenario, and demonstrate how to execute the task. Participants also get hands-on experience using tools such as ATP and protein swabs to validate the efficacy of the SSOP that they created.
