This <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/food-health\/recipes\/baked-cinnamon-sugar-tortilla-chips\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Baked Cinnamon Tortilla Chips<\/a> recipe was one of the easiest I\u2019ve made. It only calls for four ingredients and takes about 15 minutes to prep and bake.<\/p>\n<h3>Butter or Oil<\/h3>\n<p>When I made this recipe, I wanted to know if using melted butter or oil would be better, so I experimented with both. I personally didn\u2019t taste a big difference, so next time I make these, I am going to use oil because it is faster than melting butter, and I think it spreads on the tortillas more evenly than the butter did. Canola oil is also lower in saturated fat compared to butter, which is a good choice for heart health.<\/p>\n<h3>Getting the Perfect Crunch<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Single Layer<\/strong>: Be sure the wedges are laid out in a single layer. If they overlap, they\u2019ll steam instead of crisping up, leaving you with soft spots.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Eyesight Test<\/strong>: Since this recipe calls for whole wheat tortillas, it\u2019s harder to tell if they\u2019re browning compared to white flour tortillas. Don&#8217;t only rely on your eyes. I suggest gently touching the chips to check for crispiness before adding more time to the timer.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Watch the Clock<\/strong>: These can go from perfectly golden to burnt very quickly.
