We are looking to see who would like to join Franklin 4-H in creating and sitting on (or walking or driving the truck\/tractor) a 4-H float in the parade this year.\u00a0 The theme is &#8220;Summertime Fun&#8221; and the Leader&#8217;s Association thought it would be great to show folks what summer for a 4-Her might look like- it could be fairs, showing, gardening, arts and crafts, teaching- whatever!\u00a0 We need to find out who is interested in joining the group.\u00a0 We have access to the vehicles and a flat bed but are looking for people who want to be a part of this fun featuring Kirk Stierwalt.\u00a0 Kirk has been coming to Maine for several years now working with Beef 4-H Youth.\u00a0 His clinics will include reviewing of feeds, Daily Care, Judging, Showmanship and once again offer virtual experiential learning workshops and clubs to youth ages 5-18 from July 5 \u2013 August 5, 2022. Planning is still taking place, but topics in previous years have ranged from engineering, art, science, animals &amp; agriculture, food &amp; nutrition, teen leadership, and more.<\/p>\n<p>Registration is now open! In this series of farm tours, participants will explore possible careers in agriculture, learn about the Maine Food System, and practice real-life farm skills.\u00a0 Participants may join one, or all of the farm visits. 4-H enrollment is not a requirement for participation, so share this opportunity with your friends! All youth ages 12-18 are welcome to participate.
