Please bring your questions and ideas! We all look forward to seeing you all at 7:00 p.m. on November 17<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Zoom information will be included in the Agenda for the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>All enrolled 4-H Volunteers are members of their county Leaders\u2019 Association. Your leadership support is encouraged and vital in deciding the focus of our county 4-H programs.<\/p>\n<p>All volunteers, please keep up to date with the <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/plugged-in\/return\/restarting-educational-%20programs\/\">newest COVID information and UMaine guidance on this site<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong><a id=\"County 4-H News\"><\/a>County News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><strong><a id=\"paperwork\"><\/a>4-H Re-enrollment Paperwork<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The new 4-H year starts October 1. There is a new option available for families for the new 4-H Year. Starting October 1<sup>st<\/sup> , families will have the ability to log into their account and complete their re-enrollment, as well as all required<br \/>\nforms, online. If you were enrolled for the 2021-2022 year, you can simply visit:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/4h.zsuite.org\/\">https:\/\/4h.zsuite.org\/<\/a> \u2013 click \u201cForgot Password?\u201d and complete the prompts using the email address you receive your 4-H communications to. If you would prefer to continue to complete paper forms, they can be found online at:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/4h\/volunteers\/forms\/\">https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/4h\/volunteers\/forms\/<\/a> or by reaching out to your county office.<\/p>\n<p>We would ask that if 4-H members are planning to re-enroll to please do the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete and sign all paperwork<\/li>\n<li>Get required signatures<\/li>\n<li>Return paperwork to the Extension Office<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you plan to try out for Eastern States, apply for national trips, apply for scholarships, and or<br \/>\ncomplete an approval form to show animals at the fair, be sure to get your re-enrollment paperwork to<br \/>\nthe Extension Office by the December 31<sup>st<\/sup> deadline. Volunteers as well are asked to fill out the enrollment<br \/>\nform, the Standards of Behavior Form, and Photo Release (if they so choose). Return all paperwork<br \/>\nto the Extension Office ASAP.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><strong><a id=\"records\"><\/a>4-H Records<\/strong><\/h4>\n<div>The 2022 4-H year is coming to a close and it\u2019s time to be thinking about finishing up those 4-H Project Records. 4-H Project Records are due into the office, or the drop box by November 23<sup>rd<\/sup>. The recommendation is to complete either the Beginner records (1st time, or new to records\/4-H) or the intermediate records (have done records before).<\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/4h\/volunteers\/project-records\/\">https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/4h\/volunteers\/project-records\/<\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Mark your calendar if kiddos want some help in getting records finished. 4-H staff will offer a records workshop on Thursday, November 17<sup>th<\/sup> from 3:30 PM &#8211; 5 PM at the Extension Office.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><a id=\"HM\"><\/a>WE WANT YOUR CAN TABS!<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>The Franklin County Extension Homemakers are collecting can tabs to benefit the Ronald McDonald House services.\u00a0 The Ronald McDonald House allows parents who are far away from home to stay close to their hospitalized child without the expense of hotel and food costs.\u00a0 The can tab program is important to the Ronald McDonald House because it provides extra revenue that can help make up for donations families cannot make.\u00a0 To house a family the cost is between $100 and $140 a night.\u00a0 That is 280 pounds of tabs!\u00a0 They only ask for $10 a night contribution but no family is turned away.\u00a0 There are two Ronald McDonald Houses located in Maine, one in Bangor and one in Portland.<\/p>\n<p>Tabs are small in size, but they have a big impact.\u00a0 Ask your family, friends, relatives, businesses, service clubs, bottle redemption centers, police stations, schools co-workers, church, etc. to save the tabs.\u00a0 This is an on-going community service that the Homemakers have under taken.<\/p>\n<p>We don\u2019t care what the tabs are collected in; zip lock bags, cardboard boxes, coffee cans, pill bottles, glass jars, or plastic trash bags.\u00a0 If you would like a container to collect tabs in, they are available at the Extension office.<\/p>\n<p>Donations of any size can be left at the Franklin County Extension Office.<\/p>\n<p>Please help us collect as many tabs as possible for this worthy cause.\u00a0 Together we can make an impact on the lives of many.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><a id=\"State 4-H News\"><\/a><strong>State News<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><strong><a id=\"22paperwork\"><\/a>2022-2023 Re-Enrollment Process<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">There is a new option available for families for the new 4-H Year. This is a space for<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\">youth to come together and build relationships with their peers. We will share interests, projects, goals, and<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\">plans for the year and then reflect on our learning throughout and at the end of the year. This is also a<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\">great place to start if you are a new or recently enrolled independent member. We will meet 3 times<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\">throughout the year as a group with county staff. This will be a space for youth to foster friendships with<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\">peers and possibly come together to work on projects of similar interests. We are even hoping to get the<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\">group to brainstorm common interests and work together on a community service project!<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/4h\/youth\/independent-member-club\/\">Register here<\/a>! <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/4h\/youth\/independent-member-club\/\">https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/4h\/youth\/independent-member-club\/<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">Meetings can be attended either in person or virtually and will be open to all ages. Sessions are free of charge, but<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\">require registration. Some sessions have limited space.
