Insects can devastate a crop of fruit in an unsprayed orchard. Unfortunately, there are no varieties with resistance to insects, but pears and peaches generally bear fruit with less damage in unsprayed orchards. Where a greater degree of protection from insect pests is desired, a combination of a few well-timed insecticide applications is an option.
