Old Town Elementary School Garden and Farm Stand

Address: Old Town, Maine

The Old Town Elementary Learning Gardens surround the school with a ½ acre of raised vegetable beds and ornamental plantings. Garden beds are used by students and teachers as an outdoor classroom and also to provide vegetables for the weekly free farm stand that runs 20+ weeks May through October.  Students help plant, water and harvest over 20 different types of vegetables, maintain pollinator habitats and engage in a variety of outdoor learning activities.  Volunteers can help with watering over the summer, the free farm stand Tuesday afternoons, work on independent projects throughout the year or help with their annual Spring and Winter community events.
