Coffin, Extension Professor<\/em><\/div>\n<p>Woodchucks or groundhogs can cause significant damage to a home garden, so you will want to either have this one removed or plan to use an electric fence for your garden next spring.<\/p>\n<p>The Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife have a site devoted to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maine.gov\/dacf\/php\/gotpests\/othercritters\/woodchuck.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.maine.gov\/dacf\/php\/gotpests\/othercritters\/woodchuck.htm&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1665239997828000&amp;usg=AOvVaw34mMB_GsHkxMFJUZz7VX5k\">Woodchucks<\/a>\u00a0that have a number of links to other sites that offer control or management information.<\/p>\n<p>This time of year, they are usually solitary and are getting ready to hibernate during the winter.
