I&#8217;m looking for advice on managing the ants without harming the gardens, where they might be living. Is there any pest management tools that would address the ants and not harm us or edible food?<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Answer:<\/h3>\n<div><em>Donna Coffin, Extension Professor<\/em><\/div>\n<p>There are a number of types of ants that can get into the house and cause concern. Removing the food source that they are attracted to in the kitchen is the first thing to do.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maine.gov\/dacf\/php\/gotpests\/bugs\/documents\/Managing-Nuisance-Ants-Single.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.maine.gov\/dacf\/php\/gotpests\/bugs\/documents\/Managing-Nuisance-Ants-Single.pdf&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1682082791786000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1WJSJyRbVO42Z76Dd3djSl\">Here are a number of suggestions.<\/a>\u00a0If the number of ants in your house is small, you may be able to control the individual ants, or vacuum up a small number of them.
