The garden features native species that feed insects, birds and wildlife in all seasons, and is a changing spectacle to behold from early summer into late fall. Volunteers are needed to help with this relatively low-maintenance garden, and the older gardens and a few fruit trees around the homestead and barns. Because of the focus on wildlife habitat, there&#8217;s also an effort to control invasive plants. The Langlais Art Preserve features Langlais&#8217; home, studio, and barns, many indoor art pieces, and more than a dozen large wooden sculptures along a 1\/4 mile ADA-accessible path. MGVs are invited to help with tidying up the pollinator and perennial beds in spring, rejuvenating older perennial beds, managing invasive plants along the art trails, other horticultural tasks like watering and care of newly planted perennials, and pruning the fruit trees.
