The Marginal Way Committee has\u00a0 ‘Weed Warriors’ maintaining 5 native plant areas along the Marginal Way. Led by Susan Drisko, a Principal Master Gardener from Massachusetts, these weed warriors weed the gardens, plant new plants and remove invasive weeds. There are also additional sites along the Marginal Way that will be planted and maintained. The Marginal Way Committee has been actively removing invasives and replanting for the last 10 years. This is an ongoing, challenging effort with funding from the Town of Ogunquit for limited maintenance and purchasing new plants and irrigation. We hope to enlist new gardeners into this effort, to teach the techniques for managing and removing invasive plants and planting native plants. We will provide education, camaraderie and the joy of restoring areas impacted by invasive weeds. You can meet with the group assigned to a particular garden and\/or work on your own schedule. We also meet as a group in the off-season to manage and remove invasive species.<\/p>\n
