Dining with Diabetes Down East

A Program for People with Diabetes and Their Families

preparing-food-3-250x168This program is free and open to anyone with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, and their family members and caregivers. Participants will meet once a week for four weeks. You will learn how to select and prepare foods that help to control blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure. There will be an opportunity to taste a variety of main dishes, side dishes, and desserts.

Dining with Diabetes Down East makes diabetes meal planning easy by using the plate method. For more information on the plate method please visit our website.

Class Information

Dates: Thursdays, June 6, 13, 20 and 27.

Time: 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Where: University of Maine Cooperative Extension, Hancock County,  63 Boggy Brook Rd., Ellsworth

Class size is limited to 20. Those who call after the program is full will be placed on a waiting list.
