Time to gear up for container gardening that’s sure to please your veggies and posies too with a promise they’ll NEVER be thirsty.  Master Gardener Volunteer, Mel Tardie  will show us how to build a self-irrigating planter system (SIPS) that automatically provides sips to container plantings.  Participants may observe and then help others in constructing, or bring along the following items so Mel can coach you through completing the finished product.  *2 5-gallon food grade buckets that stack  *1″ plastic pipe or tubing (pvc or other) about 3″ longer than the height of one of the buckets *1 small plastic container (8 oz. cottage cheese or soft butter tub)  *black plastic bag or 24″ piece of black plastic mulch.

Workshop is Free and Open to the Public.   Advance registration is not required.  If questions, please call the UMaine Cooperative Extension office at 667-8212
