It is held at the Blue Hill Fairgrounds and overnight camping is available for enrolled members.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rain or shine \u2014 fun for the entire family, all ages welcome!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"schedule\"><\/a>Schedule of Events<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Friday, June 13 (Open to Enrolled 4-H Families Only):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arrive after 5:00 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Bring Your Own Meals<\/li>\n<li>Evening Activities: Camping, Games, Campfire with S&#8217;mores<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Saturday, June 14 (Open to All):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8:00 &#8211; A small breakfast for campers courtesy of the Hancock County 4-H Leaders&#8217; Association<\/li>\n<li>9:00 &#8211; Opening circle<\/li>\n<li>9:30 &#8211; 2:50 &#8211; Hands-on workshops for youth ages 5-18<\/li>\n<li>10:45 &#8211; 1:00 &#8211; Check in with our statewide needs assessment team!\n<ul>\n<li>We are gathering to listen, learn, and better understand the needs of our 4-H families. Your input is incredibly important as we plan for the future of our programs. This is a relaxed opportunity to share your experiences, ideas, and hopes for 4-H.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>12:00 &#8211; Lunch at noon courtesy of the Hancock County 4-H Leaders&#8217; Association (Details to come)<\/li>\n<li>3:00 &#8211; Closing circle with musical guests!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a id=\"cost\"><\/a>Cost<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To help us cover lunch costs, there is a suggested donation of $5 a person or $12 cap for parties of 3+, which can be paid to the 4-H Leaders&#8217; Association at the event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"camping\"><\/a>Camping<\/h3>\n<p><strong>You must be an enrolled 4-H member or the guest of an enrolled member in order to camp.<\/strong> All youth must be accompanied by a parent\/guardian or enrolled 4-H Volunteer.<\/p>\n<p>Camping Details:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No electricity<\/li>\n<li>Bring your own water<\/li>\n<li>Bring your own meals<\/li>\n<li>You must be an enrolled 4-H member, or the guest of an enrolled member, in order to camp<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a id=\"expectations\"><\/a>Expectations<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>All youth must be accompanied by a parent\/guardian or enrolled 4-H Volunteer.<\/li>\n<li>Be respectful of the Blue Hill Fairgrounds and take responsibility for your safety and equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Leave your space better than you found it.<\/li>\n<li>Help to create an inclusive and equitable environment for all youth participants.<\/li>\n<li>Uphold the 4-H Standards of Behavior (<a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/4h\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/38\/2018\/09\/Standards-of-Behavior.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PDF<\/a>) and Participation Agreements (<a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/register\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/09\/Permission-Photo.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PDF<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>Follow all safety rules.<\/li>\n<li>Please check-in with 4-H staff at the main table upon arrival.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a id=\"bring\"><\/a>What to Bring<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Bring your own meals.<\/li>\n<li>Bring your own drinking water; potable water is not available on the fairgrounds at this time.<\/li>\n<li>Musical Instruments for singing around the campfire.<\/li>\n<li>Bicycles for biking around the fairgrounds (for your safety, no bikes will be allowed during the day when workshops and clinics are in session).<\/li>\n<li>Clothing and gear appropriate for the weather (the weather is unpredictable this time of year so be prepared for hot days and cool nights, and remember, this event takes place rain or shine!)<\/li>\n<li>Camping gear if staying overnight.<\/li>\n<li>All supplies needed for your animal. *See Animal Rules &amp; Requirements below for more details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a id=\"animal\"><\/a>Animal Rules &amp; Requirements<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that your animals are healthy and up to date on <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/4h\/animal-science-resources\/horse\/vaccination-information\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">vaccines<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Barn space and pens are provided for beef, goats, horses, and sheep. You are responsible for bringing appropriate housing for other small livestock such as rabbits, chickens, etc.<\/li>\n<li>You are responsible for setting up your pens, cleaning up your area, taking down your pens, and returning panels to the storage area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Horses<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Please provide vaccination records for Rabies, Negative Coggins (dated after June 1, 2016), EHV-1, Equine Influenza. You will be asked to upload these records when you register. Read\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/4h\/animal-science-resources\/horse\/vaccination-information\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Maine 4-H Vaccination Statement<\/a>\u00a0for more information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Dogs<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dogs must be kept on a leash or in a crate. Please provide vaccination records for Rabies, Distemper, and Parvo. You will be asked to upload these records when you register.<\/li>\n<li>Please ensure that your dog is free from fleas and\/or ticks.<\/li>\n<li>To participate in dog workshops, a parent must accompany anyone under the age of 9<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Sheep, Goats, Rabbits, Chickens and other small livestock<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be free of lice, scours, runny noses, mouth sores, mites, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a id=\"registration\"><\/a>Registration<\/h3>\n<p>Before registering:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/hancock\/4h\/schedule\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Choose your Workshops<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Scan required <a href=\"#animal\">Animal Health Records<\/a> if you are bringing an animal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Registration Deadlines<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Registration opens to enrolled 4-H families on May 7th<\/li>\n<li>Registration opens to the public on May 19th<\/li>\n<li>Registration for June Jamboree closes June 4th<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>The University of Maine System (the System) is an equal opportunity institution committed to fostering a nondiscriminatory environment and complying with all applicable nondiscrimination laws.
