And, in a minor miracle, we actually enjoyed a <i>mostly<\/i> dry Saturday \u2013 can you believe it?!<\/p>\n<div id=\"99c14d72bde9635d\" class=\"conversation-container message-actions-hover-boundary ng-star-inserted\">\n<div class=\"response-container ng-tns-c2788162521-22 response-container-with-gpi ng-star-inserted\">\n<div class=\"presented-response-container ng-tns-c2788162521-22\">\n<div class=\"response-container-content ng-tns-c2788162521-22\">\n<div class=\"response-content ng-tns-c2788162521-22\">\n<div id=\"model-response-message-contentr_99c14d72bde9635d\" class=\"markdown markdown-main-panel tutor-markdown-rendering stronger enable-updated-hr-color\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>This Jamboree truly embodied the spirit of the 4-H pledge:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Our Heads to clearer thinking:<\/b> We meticulously planned logistics, designed engaging workshops, and brainstormed dedicated volunteers. Every detail, from supplies and registration to maps and emergency protocols, was carefully considered to ensure a smooth and safe experience.<\/li>\n<li><b>Our Hearts to greater loyalty:<\/b> We poured our hearts into creating a welcoming and fun environment for today&#8217;s youth. We prioritized slowing down, connecting with families and volunteers, embracing new faces, and expressing our deep gratitude to everyone involved. This magic simply wouldn&#8217;t happen without your collective effort.<\/li>\n<li><b>Our Hands to larger service:<\/b> Our hands were busy! From preparing materials and ordering food to setting up tables and ensuring thorough cleanup before and after the event, countless hours of dedicated service brought this vision to life.<\/li>\n<li><b>Our Health to better living:<\/b> We valued health this weekend by enjoying the outdoors, fostering connections among friends, and being brave to try new things.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone who navigated the last-minute changes and adjustments that inevitably arise with an event of this scale. Your flexibility and willingness to adapt on the fly were absolutely crucial to the event. No need to wait until the last minute to drop off exhibit items to the office or exhibit hall!<\/p>\n<p>Starting Monday August 4 &#8211; Monday, August 25, you can deliver exhibit items, along with their required <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.umaine.edu\/hancock\/4h\/fair\/#forms\">exhibit cards and entry form<\/a>, to the Cooperative Extension office in Ellsworth. Items will not be accepted unless they are complete, so please check you have everything before making the drive. Our office hours are Monday &#8211; Friday, 8 am &#8211; 4 pm. Please plan to arrive before 4 pm as staff will not be able to stay after hours to accept exhibits.<\/p>\n<p>Monday, August 25 at 4 pm &#8211; <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Last chance to drop off 4-H exhibits at Extension Office in Ellsworth<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tuesday, August 26 at 12 pm &#8211; Last chance to drop off exhibits at 4-H Exhibit Hall on the Blue Hill Fairgrounds\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>If this is your first year participating in the fair, don&#8217;t hesitate to ask questions. You can reach our 4-H staff at 207.667.8212 for help!<\/p>\n<h4>Steer Tickets Have Arrived!<\/h4>\n<p>The Steer Ticket fundraiser is the premier fundraiser for the Hancock County 4-H Leaders\u2019 Association. Tickets are $2 each; 30 cents go directly to the 4-H Club that sells the tickets, and $1.70 will go to the Leaders\u2019 Association to support 4-H programming, scholarships, county events, and more. The Steer Ticket Raffle winner will receive a cut-to-order, freezer-ready Beef Steer raised by a Hancock County 4-H\u2019er, OR $650 cash. The drawing is at 5 pm on Labor Day at the Blue Hill Fair. The 4-H Club AND the 4-H\u2019er who sells the most tickets will receive an award at Cloverfest. Tickets are now available for pick up by 4-H\u2019ers at the Extension Office. Steer ticket money must be returned to the Extension Office by <b>August 25th<\/b> or the thirty-cent club money per ticket will be forfeited! <b>Steer tickets are not to be brought to the Blue Hill Fair. <\/b>Also, remember that we cannot sell raffle tickets to people under 16 years old, and youth under 18 should not be handling money. Adults should not put youth\u2019s names on the tickets.<\/p>\n<h4>Volunteers are needed for the 4-H Food Booth and Steer Ticket Table: We are calling all 4-H families!<\/h4>\n<p>The 4-H Food Booth and Steer Ticket Raffle are the two largest fundraisers for the Hancock County 4-H Leaders\u2019 Association. The funds raised are used to support the 4-H programs you love all year long \u2013 Cloverfest, June Jamboree, Public Speaking, Style Revue, Leaders Banquet, and so much more! We rely on our strong 4-H community to deliver quality youth programs in Hancock County, and we are asking 4-H Clubs, Groups, Independents, and Parents\/Guardians to volunteer their time during the Blue Hill Fair (August 28 &#8211; September 1). We need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Youth (16 and up with an adult) AND Adult Volunteers for the 4-H Food Booth: \u201cFront\u201d of the booth (taking orders, distributing food), and \u201cBack\u201d of the booth (cooking burgers, hot dogs, etc)<\/li>\n<li>Youth AND Adult Volunteers for the Steer Ticket Table: selling Steer Tickets to fairgoers. Sara and Genio opened up their lovely farm to our SPIN Club and offered a tour of their chicken coops, processing facility, and more. We even got an impromptu processing demonstration and trial experience! They were amazing hosts and had a wealth of knowledge ready for sharing.
