The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry said that 30 of the 36 green ash trees sold at Lowe’s stores in Maine had been located as of Monday. Inspectors have found no evidence of emerald ash borer infestation on the small-diameter trees, the department said.

This fall, Emerald ash borer infestations were confirmed in the towns of Van Buren in Aroostook County, Gorham in Cumberland County, and Ogunquit, Parsonsfield, and Shapleigh in York County. Targeted surveys by MFS staff to locate potential future biological control release sites uncovered the first detected infestation in the York County town of Newfield.

Terrestrial invasive plants are expected to shift their ranges in response to changing climate. This tool provides lists of terrestrial invasive plants expected to expand their ranges into the chosen county or state with climate change by 2040-2060.

The Gulf Coast tick successfully established a population over the winter in Fairfield County, CT. That’s a first record for this species sustaining its population in Connecticut and debut in all the Northeast.
