Two recipients of scholarships from KLLA tell us about the programs they experienced.

I started riding at Hill-N-Dale Farm at the end of September, 2018. I started to really like riding so I did Pony Camp.

When I first started camp I knew most of the girls, but I made more friends. We learned why we had to take rocks out of paddocks; for example, a horse could trip and fall. We also learned about different breeds of horses, like bay, dark bay, chestnut, and gray. We got to have lunch on a hill and watch other people ride. We would also have group and private riding lessons. I made a really good friend. She rode the horse I would ride. His name is Echo. We would clean his stall, dump and scrub the water bucket. There would be times when all the camp girls would take manure out of the riding ring. Then we would play games like hide and seek, red light-green light, and tag.

Hill-N-Dale Farm has been a great experience so far.
