We hope you can make it! We realize that this format is not the same as getting together in person, but it is the safest option we have at the moment. We promise to make this event as interactive as possible and a recording of the event will be made available for those who can\u2019t join us live. Watch for an invitation in the mail and more information very soon!<\/p>\n Have you been working on a project? Did you join in a virtual program or livestock show? Did you enter a project in the 4-H Virtual Exhibit Hall? Please send us a photo, drawing or video about what you did so we can share it! We hope to include these photos in the 2020 4-H Achievement Celebration on November 14! Just email your photo or art, and a paragraph about your experience by November 1<\/strong> to cynthia.rogers@maine.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n For 4-H youth members currently enrolled in Knox or Lincoln Counties. Many staff continue to work remotely. Our new hours are Monday-Friday 8 am-12 noon and 1 pm-4 pm. Please call 207.832.0343 before arriving<\/strong> so we may assess your needs and provide you with pick-up, drop-off, or curbside options. If you need to access the building, please call once you have arrived as we have a one customer limit in our lobby, per University of Maine policies and procedures regarding social distancing. A properly worn cloth face mask is required. If you do not have a mask we will have one available for you in our entryway. Thank you for your patience.<\/p>\n The 4-H Aquarium Club is open to youth ages 5-18 who are interested in being members of a community of youth aquarium hobbyists! This group is for Maine youth who already have an aquarium hobby, or who are looking to start one, to come together to talk about their love for fish and aquaria. The club is led by aquaculture experts Dr. Scarlett Tudor from UMaine\u2019s Aquaculture Research Institute, and Melissa Malmstedt from the UMaine Center for Cooperative Aquaculture Research (CCAR). Meetings take place approximately once per month, starting in November 2020. All meetings will be virtual via Zoom in order to connect youth from across the state of Maine! Register<\/a> by November 1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n This fall, join us on Thursdays, beginning October 1<\/strong>, as we meet with cool presenters and learn about their research and pathway to UMaine! In our first session, we will be joined by UMaine Electrical Engineering PhD Candidate, Sonia Naderi, whose research focuses on utilizing artificial intelligence in wireless networks to enable widespread environmental monitoring. Other topics for this series will include animal health, wildlife, engineering and more! View spring session webinars<\/a> and register<\/a> today!<\/p>\n Every Wednesday, you have the opportunity to participate in The University of Vermont’s VTeen Science Exploration<\/a>. These are a similar format and run from 3:30-4:45 pm.<\/p>\n K-2 kids are invited to join Sara King for a Mindfulness Meeting on Monday, October 19 <\/strong>at 4:00 PM via Zoom. Have you heard of yoga and mindfulness but aren\u2019t sure what it\u2019s all about? Come check it out! Sara will guide everyone through a short yoga sequence, followed by some breath work and a mindful activity! Please register<\/a> by October 16<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
