Person holding a rabbit.

This webinar will give information on the detection, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases for domesticated rabbits including coccidia, E. cuniculi, and Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease. Also covered are approved drugs and withdrawal times to help inform meat producers. This webinar is for all rabbit breeders and raisers. Come with questions for a discussion period at the end.

About the presenter: Dr. Matt Ford graduated from the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 and has been practicing in Maine for 20 years. He started his career at Wells Veterinary Hospital, then moved to Scarborough Animal Hospital, eventually buying that hospital in 2010. After taking over, he expanded the services to include exotic small mammals including rabbits, rodents and pocket pets. In 2022 he sold that practice and built Southern Maine Hospital for Small Mammals, which opened in the fall of 2023 just for exotic companion mammals.

This webinar is part of a grant funded by USDA National Animal Disease Preparedness and Response Program (NADPRP) in collaboration with Maine Department of Agriculture Conservation and Forestry Animal Health Program.
