This workshop focuses on two significant parasites impacting sheep, goats, and other small ruminants\u2014meningeal worm (brain worm) and lungworm. Participants will learn about the risks, prevention, and management of meningeal worm, a mysterious and often deadly parasite. The session also includes hands-on activities, including setting up a Baermann apparatus\u2014the diagnostic tool used to detect lungworms\u2014and practicing microscope techniques for parasite identification.<\/p>\n

This workshop is designed for sheep and goat farmers, beginning livestock producers, and anyone interested in improving herd health management and parasite control practices.<\/p>\n

Understand the life cycles, symptoms, and impacts of lungworm and meningeal worm.
\nLearn strategies to reduce parasite exposure and improve animal resilience.
