Farm stands, farmers’ markets and other direct to customer marketing methods have always relied on “Word of Mouth” marketing to get most of their customers. Now customers are communicating in a variety of ways including digitally and farmers need to be sure their customers can find them easily in the digital universe.

96% of Americans have cell phones and 81% have smartphones. 70% of people use their smartphone as a store locator. Can they find your farm or farmers’ market? What are customers posting abut their farm experience at your farm or farmers’ market?

Find out how you can make your farm stand, farmers’ market or other direct to customer market site more visible to the digital technology.

Donna Coffin, Extension Educator in Piscataquis and Penobscot Counties, will lead the workshop. She is a University of Maine Extension Professor in Piscataquis and Penobscot Counties and has been assisting farmers and gardeners since 1980. She utilizes new media in communications with clients and assists farmers in marketing.
