Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP)

celebrating 50 years EFNEP Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program

With the recent transition to virtual programming, we are now able to offer EFNEP to limited income parents and youth in Piscataquis County.

University of Maine Cooperative Extension Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program is free to income-eligible adults with children and if you are eligible for programs such as SNAP, WIC, or Head Start.

Are you or someone you know interested in improving you and your family’s health, saving money at the store, and learning basic nutrition tips? Are you part of a community agency that would like to host an EFNEP class through distance education?

In this FREE program you will learn to:

  • Cook new recipes
  • Choose healthy foods
  • Save money at the grocery store
  • Keep food safe to eat
  • Be more active
