DOVER-FOXCROFT: Sit back and enjoy a tour of the Scottish countryside by Wendy Russell of Widdershins.\u00a0 Last year Wendy and Chris had a wonderful opportunity to tour Scotland. They will be sharing a photo journey that includes the castles, historic sites and countryside of Scotland. All are welcome to attend this free program sponsored by the Maine Highlands Farmers and the University of Maine Cooperative Extension on Thursday, February 14th<\/sup> from 7:0 0 pm to 8:00 pm at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Piscataquis County Office at 165 East Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426.<\/p>\n

Widdershins produces grass fed beef & milk from their Devon Cattle and Nigerian Dwarf Goats. They also raise Katahdin Sheep, Large Black Pigs & Vizsla Dogs. For more information about their farm go to http:\/\/www.widdershins-fm.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n

After the program the Maine Highlands Farmers (MHF) will hold their regular monthly business meeting. They have changed to the second Thursday of the month and will be rotating meetings between Bangor and Dover-Foxcroft. The MHF are local farmers who come together to promote locally grown and raised products in the Maine Highlands region. They also sponsor educational sessions to help farmers be more successful.\u00a0 Farmers who want to learn more about the MHF are welcome to stay for the business meeting and meet the other farmers in the association or go to www.mainehighlandsfarmers.com<\/a><\/p>\n
