Approximately 30% (19 individuals) responded. If you have not taken the promotion process survey or would like to provide additional information through the survey, <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScwJmgfggPPUGIQBh44rd6m-uiYsObQl1Trqgw4FPdwmafc8A\/viewform?usp=sf_link\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Next Steps:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>EPC will work on:\n<ul>\n<li>Pulling your feedback together into a proposal for the ELT to consider.<\/li>\n<li>Creating a web page for suggestions for applying your work to meet the four criteria under the Promotion Process pages.<\/li>\n<li>Updating and re-organizing the Promotion Process pages on our website to be more useful and user-friendly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Summary of the responses from initial survey:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Demographic results:\n<ul>\n<li>8 respondents are level I professionals and have worked for Extension less than 10 years.<\/li>\n<li>7 respondents have worked for Extension between 10 and 20 years and are evenly split between levels 2, 3 &amp; 4.<\/li>\n<li>13 were base-funded professionals and 6 were soft money.<\/li>\n<li>15 identified as female and 4 as male.<\/li>\n<li>16 were in program related positions, 3 in marketing\/communication and 1 in research.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Qualitative Results:\n<ul>\n<li>What do you appreciate about the process?\n<ul>\n<li>Opportunity for pay increase and credential\/educational attainment.<\/li>\n<li>Clearly defined criteria and process.<\/li>\n<li>Peer review and coaching.<\/li>\n<li>Support for participant and completion of the process.<\/li>\n<li>Chance for reflection on work and goals.<\/li>\n<li>That it exists!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>What barriers exist in the process?\n<ul>\n<li>No options for those at Level IV.<\/li>\n<li>Task is daunting with required record-keeping on top of regular work.<\/li>\n<li>Unclear what the specific levels and criteria look like for my specific role.<\/li>\n<li>Have never seen what a completed packet looks like.<\/li>\n<li>Limitations in job description make advancement nearly impossible.<\/li>\n<li>Difficulty finding mentors\/peers to help navigate the process.<\/li>\n<li>Soft-money positions need to raise their own salary increases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>What are the reasons for not applying if eligible?\n<ul>\n<li>Time and effort involved for such a small increase.<\/li>\n<li>Promotion not supported by supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Is the process of collecting and assembling packet materials clear?\n<ul>\n<li>8 Yes<\/li>\n<li>7 Somewhat<\/li>\n<li>4 No<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Criteria:\n<ul>\n<li>Almost half the respondents felt they could use clarification of the criteria and concrete. examples of how they apply to different roles.<\/li>\n<li>Suggestions for additional criteria included collaborative activities, public service, building partnerships and community member feedback.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>What would be most helpful?\n<ul>\n<li>Mentors \/ peer review to help with process.<\/li>\n<li>Examples of successful packets and of how criteria apply to specific roles.<\/li>\n<li>Extending rank limits.<\/li>\n<li>Clarifying and streamlining the process and communications.<\/li>\n<li>Support from PA.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding why the process matters.
