Staff members who work 20 hours or less <span style=\"color: #000000\">may (with the supervisor\u2019s approval) work your regular schedule in addition to reporting 16 hours to attend the conference. If you or your supervisor have questions or concerns, please contact <strong>Fran Sulinski<\/strong>, at <a style=\"color: #000000\" href=\"mailto:fran.sulinski@maine.edu\">fran.sulinski@maine.edu<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong><a id=\"meeting-norms\"><\/a>Conference Norms<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We invite you to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Meet as many new people as you can.<\/li>\n<li>Introduce yourself and tell what you do.<\/li>\n<li>Give presenters your full attention by limiting distractions from electronic devices.<\/li>\n<li>Engage and participate.<\/li>\n<li>Get up and stretch or stand up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong> <a id=\"dress\"><\/a>Dress<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Be prepared for the weather since some breakout sessions are located outside of Wells Conference Center. Comfortable shoes are also a good choice for the same reason. Casual attire is fine.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>It is also good to dress in layers to be prepared for meeting rooms that fluctuate in temperature. The top layer should be warmer than you\u2019d expect to have to wear indoors.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><strong><a id=\"bar-music\"><\/a>Cash Bar\/Music<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A cash bar will be available during the Poster Session and Table Displays as well as during the Banquet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Music for this year&#8217;s first night banquet:<\/strong> Tori Jackson\u2019s 10-piece band \u201cEvery Other Sunday\u201d with other UMaine Extension guest musicians joining in.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><a id=\"job-position-ribbons\"><\/a>University of Maine Cooperative Extension Job Position Ribbons<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>New this year!<\/strong> We&#8217;re offering an option to add colored ribbons to your nametag\/lanyard to designate your job category and program area.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve heard from many of you that connecting with colleagues, both old and new, was an important part of the conference. This activity gives us an opportunity to get to know the many new staff and faculty that have joined Extension and provides our new colleagues a chance to learn more about the diverse work we do across the state. And no worries&#8230; there will be signs available to help us decode the color system! But if you have any questions, Ella Glatter will be on hand to help out.<\/p>\n<p>Be sure to pick up these ribbons to hang on your lanyard at the registration as you enter this year&#8217;s conference.
